She has been around for many year! Some people call her the princess of techno here in Greece. With no doubt Monika has many things to say. Label owner, a top Dj that travels all around the world she celebrates her latest mix CD titled “ On the road vol 4 “.

1. You have shaken the dancefloors with your releases all these years however your latest dj mix  "On the road" is shaking a lot of home  soundsystems  around the world. What is the story behind this mix ?

Monika :  The mix at hand has been created in response to an inquiry by HMV, Japan's largest  consumer electronics chain. On my continuous tours and gigs e.g. on the WIRE festival launched by Takkyo Ishino I  have got to know Japanese  people's kindness, respect, and energy on the dance floor. 

Ever since, Japan is amongst my favourite countries to tour. Which makes it even more  significant for me to create this mix for HMV Japan - an honour I  share with Jeff Mills and Hardfloor.  My ongoing mix CD series is titled "On The Road" because that is what my life is - I am always on the road,  meeting new people, new music, and new styles. This Cd is now called On the Nippon road - nippon stands for japan - the country of the rising sun.

2. Which elements of your background influence your approach to music?

Well i was always into music. music was my first love. All the money Ihad i spent on records, concerts , tapes.... and I learned the piano.. so djing was not such a big step into it...

3. What do you reckon the future of electronic music industry is? Many labels shut down. How do you vision things will be in ten years from now?

I don't know. i am a quite spontaneous person, who lives not so much in the future but in the now. So I cannot say what my vision will be musical wise. Who would think 10 years ago, that djs will play their sets with computer? I mean time is running so fast, things change even faster... so... who knows?  I made a little break now with my labels to concentrate on my studio productions. but now I am back with an underground project: GTMK. That is a white label with just a stamp on it and the music is produced by Gregor Tresher & Monika Kruse . I decided to release the tracks that way, without telling the names, cause I wanted no hype - concerning our names, or the label , where it will be released. It is about the music! Just the fans will know that this project is us, cause I put the tracks on the my space site : myspace.com/monikakrusemusic.   It will be released in june. watch out!

4.  Cool! So performing for 3 years on the NON aesthetic parties and all around the country . Any interesting story to say so far? 

Well there are soooo many interesting parties , funny stories... years ago i rent a tram ( little train) to make house parties there. We build inside a bar , dj booth,  smoke machine and strobe lights and drove in the night through the city. Once it happened that we got stopped by the police cause they thought the tram is burning . But it was just the good working smoke machine...

5. What is your impressions from the Greek scene so far?

Well it is small , but nice ...

6. Your favourite thing about Greece?

I like the people. I think greek people are very friendly and good looking  :))))
